Green Day's Troubled Times song lyrics

Troubled Times is a sweet song from Green Day's twelfth studio album, Revolution Radio. Often shorted to 'Rev Rad' the album's lyrics have continued the biting commentary that Green Day offers on American Society.

Whereas Bang Bang reflected on American gun culture and the reaction of the medica to mass gun shootings, Troubled Times, simply reflects exactly what the song's writer is seeing across the board.

Still Breathing song lyrics by Green Day

Still Breathing is a new Green Day song from their album Revolution Radio (often refereed to by fans as the ‘Rev Rad’ album.

Singer and chief lyric writer Billie-Joe Armstrong said that Still Breathing is a song that touches on yet more social issues – drug addiction, gambling and entwines them around the person lives of a soldier and a single mother and of course a boy who this grew up without a father.

Billie Joe said the song's meaning is not about himself (as he has famously struggled with drug addiction himself) but that he want’s the song’s intent to be more a more universal discussion rather than one  about his own travails:

‘I'd rather write something where my eyes are forward, not so much internal. I hope it makes people happy and creates a difference in some way, just by people recognizing themselves in the song.’

Still Breathing song lyrics

I'm like a child looking off in the horizon

I'm like an ambulance turning on the sirens

Oh, I'm still alive

I'm like a soldier coming home for the first time

I dodge a bullet, I walk across a landmine

Oh, I'm still alive

Am I bleeding

Am I bleeding from the storm?

Just shine a light into the wreckage

So far away away

Cause I'm still breathing

Cause I'm still breathing on my own

My head's above the rain and roses

Making my way away

Cause I'm still breathing

Cause I'm still breathing on my own

My head's above the rain and roses

Making my way away

My way to you

I'm like a junkie tying off for the last time

I'm like a loser that's betting on his last dime

Oh, I'm still alive

I'm like a son that was raised without a father

I'm like a mother barely keeping it together

Oh, I'm still alive

Am I bleeding

Am I bleeding from the storm?

Just shine a light into the wreckage

So far away away

Cause I'm still breathing

Cause I'm still breathing on my own

My head's above the rain and roses

Making my way away away

Cause I'm still breathing

Cause I'm still breathing on my own

My head's above the rain and roses

Making my way away away

As I walk down ledge

Are you scared to death to live

I've been running all my life

Just to find a home that's for the restless

The truth that's in the message

Making my way away away

Cause I'm still breathing

Cause I'm still breathing on my own

My head's above the rain and roses

Making my way away

Cause I'm still breathing

Cause I'm still breathing on my own

My head's above the rain and roses

Making my way away

Cause I'm still breathing

Cause I'm still breathing on my own

My head's above the rain and roses

Making my way away

My way to you

'Bouncing off the Wall' song lyrics by Green Day

A rocker and a half song from Green Day's Revolution Radio album, or "Rev Rad" as fans have latched onto calling it (sounds like some fun loving kind of priest?).

The song is classic Green Day being three punk chords and the truth and as per standard Green Day song writing, nothing but the truth.

When someone is described as bouncing of the walls, it's often used an expression to convey that that person appears to be exhibiting nervous excitement or agitation. It's often borne from a sense of restlessness and an itching just to get out side and get on with it - hence bouncing off the walls.

Green Day's song captures this feeling.
