Christian's Inferno Lyrics Green Day

Christian's Inferno Lyrics Green Day

This song is from Green Day's 21st Century Breakdown album.

Christian's Inferno

I got under the grip
Between the modern hell
I got the rejection letter in the mail and
It was already ripped to shreds.
Seasons in a ruin and
This bitter pill is chased with blood.
There's fire in my veins
And it's pouring out like a flood

Whoa, Christian's inferno
Whoa, Christian's inferno
Whoa, Christian's inferno
Whoa, Christian's inferno

This diabolic state is gracing my existence
Like a catasrophic baby
Maybe you're the chemical reaction
I am the atom bomb
I am the chosen one
Toxin your reservoir
And then return man to ape

Whoa, Christian's inferno
Whoa, Christian's inferno
Whoa, Christian's inferno
Whoa, Christian's inferno

  4. Yet another kick a$$ song! Green Day doesn't get enough credit for their great lyrics. They may be a popular but it doesn't lessen how great and relevant they truly are.

  5. I used to love Green Day until they got all political and anti-establishment with their lyrics. Now they just piss me off. Why can't they just shut up about their opinions and just entertain?

  6. well first of all they are like some people in the world that want to make a difference in the world and this is their chance. not like they are the people's champions or anything but if you had a chance to change all that crap that bush did, and all the political crap that has been happening, i would, so just shut up and enjoy the music. If you really don't like the lyrics, just don't listen.

This is just how great diverging opinions can get. When people comment about lyrics, they're either going to criticize the "lack of a message", or they're going to criticize "the presence of a message". In the end, you're never happy. I'd like to remind you that a song is supposed to hold a message, else it would only be music. Even then, music itself holds a message. In the end, I don't understand why you would write songs if it were not to give a message, whatever it may be.

  12. What is up with all of you. The lyrics are his words of his self expression and his views of todays world. Not enough people see that and most fans over look it as well. he is speaking a messgae of a freedom that this ocuntry was suppose to have. Look back through history at all the damage greed andpolitics has done. Our founding fathers founded this country so they could be free of repression and able to think for themselves, they would be so ashamed to see our world todaya nd the government of this country. It has become a political christian country ruled by greedy men who in now way represent any of you on here unless your an old fart. Even though america is one of the freest nations in the world we still are not free. We are not free to speakout minds, we are not free to choose a religion, we are not free in any areaof our lives no matter what the illusion is youlive in, you are a slave to economy and this country so long as you sit on your ass and allow a government to tell you what you can do in and on your own land and your own property. All our news and media coverage is allcontroled by a few select few. it take no time at all to see that we are slave and more than that americans are becoming willing slaves.

And here all of you judge each other and argue over lyrics from a band attempting to get people to see the truth. Green Day is speaking their minds on issues that do matter today and matter greatly for our future and that of our childrens. They are trying to get people like all of you to wake up and see the truth, see what is really happening beyond your tv shows and video games and all. This nation has left of children under educated and with false hopes of a happy future. Green Day for years has spoken a message of freedom, pride and self awareness, wehter it be political, religious or what. Their message is still calling for a greater freedom for everyone.

However in the end his words are his and the only person who knows the true meaning of his words will be the writer of the song. Just as I only can tell you my views with my words and I know they are my words and so many still will not understand and will shout stupid things back at me. That action only shows the ignorance of this nation and the ignorance of the individuals within this nation that have allowed this to happen.

  14. This isn't a very Political album beyond the norm you could have complained about American idiots political references but with this album there is nothing to complain at Think for one second and you will realize that this album has a dull plain message politically just something to drive the lyrics a little more forward and when you think about it its about the Nixon administration if you cant listen to the lyrics and get that and you comment online you just make an ass of yourself

  15. If I remember hearing correctly this album was a follow up to American Idiot and was more about the Bush administration.

However, People can interpret this to be about a million different things. Like I said, the only person to really know is the writer, the rest of us can only make assumptions to what it is about based on each of our individual programming.

  17. Wow People really are funny and ignorant. I am not no Liberal or Capitalist. I am simple educated and totally anti government for varius reasons, but this isn't the place for any explainations of my beliefs or my life. I simply spoke only about what I know and heard and from my view point only. It never does agree with many, and the ignarance and name calling amazes me at how ignorant some people truly are.
Also it is ashame that you can say such things and hide your name in shame.
It has been nice, but I think I will continue to speak my word in my place on the net.

  18. Hilarious.

Anti-establishment has NEVER been a part of the liberal agenda, yet left wingers think they're being "individuals" and "anti-establishment". Smaller government and less government involvement is a key for the conservative perspective; yet instead of opening up your eyes and reading beyond the media, you conform and follow what you're told.

  19. It is interesting how mentioning religion pulls out the best and worst of us. When songs attack the Church, it becomes a dated song to me. In the Christian Church today, a current contemparary swing is happening. Powerful leaders such as Francis Chan, Jim Brown and more have heard how preaching Christ in someones face (known as the blow horn guy) is not acceptable and not well received. The Church in the name of Christ is evolving to be more Christ like. You are to be loved and not judged know matter where you are in faith or how you are living your life, it is your choice, we are just there to help you when you need it. When I read these types of lyrics, it just feels dated like around the 1940 style Church. But man I gotta say, Green Day does know how to lay the music down with the best of them, they are a close runner to my all time favorite AC/DC. Yes, Christian can appreciate good music to! You have a choice, accept Christ or not, you are loved either way. I won't be coming back to this site, not even sure how I got here, so your comments won't be read by me

  20. For 18 years green day has been just singing about "fuck you." So if you dumbasses wanna make something special of the lyrics, go ahead...but it's all about being punk, and saying "fuck you"...so fuck you

  21. I don't understand the lyrics, I like Green Day but i'm not sure what to make of this song, anyone want to explain what he means? is he cursing God?

  22. "Smaller government and less government involvement is a key for the conservative perspective; yet instead of opening up your eyes and reading beyond the media, you conform and follow what you're told."

And who have been the ones trying to shove Christian morality down everybody's throats for the 8 years of the Bush Administration? Who lied to the American people to start wars? Who spent those 8 years calling people who question government policies "unpatriotic"? Who have stood on the side of the corporations and the greedy bastards of Wall Street to screw over the hardworking American? The conservatives, that's who! And no, I'm not just another liberal; I used to be a staunch Republican, because I really believed that they were the party that cared about the people and most interested in preserving our freedoms. How wrong I was! Fuck the Republican Party. I can't believe I ever followed those fuckers.

  23. Quick note: Christian does not equal Republican, and vice versa. But I agree with F-the Republican party, as long as we burn the Democrats, too

I know Green Day does a few religious satire songs, but this doesn't strike me as one of them. A lot of people here must not have paid attention to the album.

Christian is a CHARACTER in the album. Gloria is the other character. They are both mentioned in songs throughout the album. This might only very minutely make a pun at the Christian religion with his name, but I see it mostly as a song about a young man who got rejected and wants to take his rage out on something. To me it's an anger song, not a religious or religious satire song.

  28. It is about the guy called Christian (the star of the album). However, I can see why some people are confused. The lack of an apostrophe in the title is quite misleading. Although this may be intentional to either outline the fact that he is named after a religion or to simply stir up controversy.
