ReplyDeleteI'm not starting nething! Green Day have. The term is out there, it will be commented on, here or eleshwere. It's also clear the song use's it a quote. That said, Green Day have still used the quote to make a point.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in the reaction to this use - Think how Peter Jackon's production of new film Dam Busters is having difficulty with how the dog's name is to be treated as it was called 'Nigger' in the original film http://www.flicks.co.nz/news/no-nigger-for-dam-busters/
Or compare to the fuss that was made when GNR released 'one in a million' that song refered to niggers AND faggots - and made #5 on the Bill Board.
Is Green Day being brave to make a point they care about or are they using the word to upset and court publicity?

Then it continues with Mass Hysteria-The masses being Hysterical, The second verse goes on to say Idle thoughts lead to full throttle screaming: Comfy Satisfied Americans suddenly experiencing what most of the rest of the world does on a daily basis-Hunger-Starvation-Chaos. 99% Of Americans have never even come close to real hunger, or real discomfort.
They say welfare is asphyxiating, which means sucking dry, sucking dry the economy, the hard workers the middle class
Mass confusion is creating a feeding ground for the bottom feeders, The survivors who take your food and break into your home because they ARE bottom feeders trying to survive
The deaf mute is misleading the choir, our government is misleading us, and the punch line is "A Natural Disaster!" (That's why there's a shortage of food and chaos has broken out. So.
