Peacemaker Lyrics by Green Day
Peacemaker is from Green Day's 21st Century Breakdown album which is the follow up to the hugely popular American Idiot.
Peacemaker:
A non-believer
I'm in a state of grace
For I am the Caesar
I'm gonna seize the day
Well, call of the banshee hey hey
Hey hey hey hey hey
As God as my witness
The infidels are gonna pay
Well, call the assassin
The orgasm
A spasm of love and hate
For what will divide us?
The righteous and the meek
Well, call of the wild hey hey
Hey hey hey hey hey
Death to the girl at the end of the serenade
Vendetta, sweet vendetta
This Beretta of the night
This fire and the desire
Shots ringing out on a holy parasite
I am a killjoy from Detroit
I drink from a well of rage
I feed off the weakness with all my love
Call up the captain hey hey
Hey hey hey hey hey
Death to the lover that you were dreaming of
This is a stand off
A Molotov cocktail
On the house
You thought I was a write off
You better think again
Call the peacemaker hey hey
Hey hey hey hey hey
I'm gonna send you back to the place where it all began
Vendetta, sweet vendetta
This Beretta of the night
This fire and the desire
Shots ringing out on a holy parasite
Well now the caretaker's the undertaker
Now I'm gonna go out and get the peacemaker
This is the neo St. Valentines Massacre
Well call up the Gaza hey hey
hey hey hey hey hey
Death to the ones at the end of the serenade
Well, death to the ones at the end of the serenade
Well, death to the ones at the end of the serenade
Well, death to the ones at the end of the serenade

Well, death to the ones at the end of the serenadeeeeeeeeeeee
ReplyDeleteawesome song!
One of the best songs in the album
ReplyDeletefuckin gr8 song
ReplyDeleteMy fav one so far
ReplyDeleteIt's a good song and all, but to me is just seems like a sped-up, galloping version of a previous song off of Warning by the name of "Misery".
ReplyDeleteThis album has not impressed me very much yet. But I guess I am an old fan that simply doesn't like the direction the band is heading. I loved the experimental tinge that the nimrod album had, but then they just went overboard with pretty much everything after.
just goes to show who listens to the music and who pays attention to the lyrics vs calling every song something that sounds like something else. get over yourself. the songs sounds like misery because of the chords used aside from that theres nothing similar.
ReplyDelete- A true Green Day fan
it has a mexican flavor, and i like that because we are seeing GD spreading out to many different audiences and i think thats a good thing. its still definitely rock, but i think that they are trying to reach more people with their message. I like it!
ReplyDeleteI like the album, this song is great and it has got some ups and downs :) greats o far!
ReplyDeletethis is my favourite song :)
ReplyDeleteIt did remind me of Misery as well, but I think that's a good thing, as Misery is one of my favourite GD songs. It is different enough not to be annoying me^^
ReplyDeleteAnd the Gaza reference was ace.
some sort of warning - misery version.....yup.....
ReplyDeleteThis is my most favorite of the album.
ReplyDeleteheh...not as great as their other albums but still great work!, but i like the feel of this song, just gets u singing along..and the lyrics are as usual, genius!! i think they're heading the right way :-)
