'Forever Now' song lyrics by Green Day

Forever Now is a great song from Green Day's Revolution Radio album.

Lyrics

My name is Billie and I'm freaking out
I thought before I was now I can't really figure it out
I sit alone with my thoughts and prayers
Screaming my memories as if I was never there

Standing at the edge of the world
It's giving me the chills
Looking down the edge of the world
Lost in a tangle, it's freaking me out
Burning lights and blackouts.

From the edge of the world
From the edge of the world

I'm like a punk rocker on labor day
How the hell did I work so hard to perform this way
I've never learned to read or write so well
But I can play the guitar until it hurts like hell

Standing at the edge of the world
It's giving me the chills
Looking down the edge of the world
Lost in a tangle, it's freaking me out
Burning lights and blackouts

From the edge of the world
From the edge of the world

If this is what you call the good life
I want a better way to die
If this is what you call the good life
I want a better way to die

Oh I
Don't want to think about tomorrow
Don't want to think about the road
It doesn't matter anyway

Oh I
I want to start a revolution
I want to hear it on my radio
And put it off another day

I want a new conspiracy
And the silence of a thousand cries
So hurry up
I want a better way to die

I'm running late to somewhere now where I don't want to be
Where the future and promises ain't what it used to be
I never wanted to compromise or bargain with my soul
How did a life on the wild side ever get so full

Somewhere now
Somewhere now
Somewhere now
Somewhere now

Oh I
Don't want to think about tomorrow
Don't want to think about the road
It doesn't matter anyway

Oh I
I want to start a revolution
I want to hear it on my radio
And put it off another day

(I ain't gonna stand in line no more!)
Oh I
Don't want to think about tomorrow
Don't want to think about the road
It doesn't matter anyway

(I ain't gonna stand in line no more!)
Oh I
I want to start a revolution
I want to hear it on my radio
And put it off another day

Green Day's 'Troubled Times' song lyrics

Troubled Times song lyrics by Green Day

Green Day's Troubled Times song lyrics

Troubled Times is a sweet song from Green Day's twelfth studio album, Revolution Radio. Often shorted to 'Rev Rad' the album's lyrics have continued the biting commentary that Green Day offers on American Society.

Whereas Bang Bang reflected on American gun culture and the reaction of the medica to mass gun shootings, Troubled Times, simply reflects exactly what the song's writer is seeing across the board.

Troubled Times lyrics written by Billie Joe

What good is love and peace on earth?
When it's exclusive?
Where's the truth in the written word?
If no one reads it
A new day dawning
Comes without warning
So don't blink twice

We live in troubled times
We live in troubled times

What part of history we learned
When it's repeated
Some things will never overcome
If we don't seek it
The world stops turning
Paradise burning
So don't think twice

We live in troubled times
We live in troubled times
We live in troubled times

We run for cover
Like a skyscraper's falling down
Then I wander like a troubled mind

What good is love and peace on earth?
When it's exclusive
Where's the truth in the written word?
If no one reads it
A new day dawning
Comes without warning
So don't look twice

We live in troubled times
We live in troubled times
We live in troubled times
We live in troubled times
We live in troubled times
We live in troubled times

Youngblood song lyrics by Green Day

A track from Radio Revolution.

Lyrics

Getting drunk, and fallen in the hedges
She's my weakness, fucking genius
Swear to god and I'm not even superstitious

Youngblood
Youngblood
Youngblood
She's my little youngblood
Youngblood
Youngblood
Youngblood
Punch-drunken youngblood

I want to hold you like a gun
We'll shoot the moon into the sun
Alright, alright

Are you stranded, like I'm stranded?
Do you want to watch the world fall to pieces?
Are you broken, like I'm broken?
Are you restless? She said: "Fuck you, I'm from Oakland!"

Youngblood
Youngblood
Youngblood
She's my little youngblood
Youngblood
Youngblood
Youngblood
Punch-drunken youngblood

Here's the band's official lyric video:

That's wild and all but when it comes to brewing beer, you need to take some things seriously - like using a plate wort chiller correctly. It's important to remember that the need to be sterilised before use and then after the wort has been chilled, they need to be cleaned really well to remove any residual gunk like hops that may have snuck in.

Still Breathing song lyrics by Green Day

Still Breathing is a new Green Day song from their album Revolution Radio (often refereed to by fans as the ‘Rev Rad’ album.

Singer and chief lyric writer Billie-Joe Armstrong said that Still Breathing is a song that touches on yet more social issues – drug addiction, gambling and entwines them around the person lives of a soldier and a single mother and of course a boy who this grew up without a father.

Billie Joe said the song's meaning is not about himself (as he has famously struggled with drug addiction himself) but that he want’s the song’s intent to be more a more universal discussion rather than one  about his own travails:

‘I'd rather write something where my eyes are forward, not so much internal. I hope it makes people happy and creates a difference in some way, just by people recognizing themselves in the song.’

Still Breathing song lyrics

I'm like a child looking off in the horizon
I'm like an ambulance turning on the sirens
Oh, I'm still alive
I'm like a soldier coming home for the first time
I dodge a bullet, I walk across a landmine
Oh, I'm still alive
Am I bleeding
Am I bleeding from the storm?
Just shine a light into the wreckage
So far away away
Cause I'm still breathing
Cause I'm still breathing on my own
My head's above the rain and roses
Making my way away
Cause I'm still breathing
Cause I'm still breathing on my own
My head's above the rain and roses
Making my way away
My way to you
I'm like a junkie tying off for the last time
I'm like a loser that's betting on his last dime
Oh, I'm still alive
I'm like a son that was raised without a father
I'm like a mother barely keeping it together
Oh, I'm still alive
Am I bleeding
Am I bleeding from the storm?
Just shine a light into the wreckage
So far away away
Cause I'm still breathing
Cause I'm still breathing on my own
My head's above the rain and roses
Making my way away away
Cause I'm still breathing
Cause I'm still breathing on my own
My head's above the rain and roses
Making my way away away
As I walk down ledge
Are you scared to death to live
I've been running all my life
Just to find a home that's for the restless
The truth that's in the message
Making my way away away
Cause I'm still breathing
Cause I'm still breathing on my own
My head's above the rain and roses
Making my way away
Cause I'm still breathing
Cause I'm still breathing on my own
My head's above the rain and roses
Making my way away
Cause I'm still breathing
Cause I'm still breathing on my own
My head's above the rain and roses
Making my way away
My way to you

'Bouncing off the Wall' song lyrics by Green Day

A rocker and a half song from Green Day's Revolution Radio album, or "Rev Rad" as fans have latched onto calling it (sounds like some fun loving kind of priest?).

The song is classic Green Day being three punk chords and the truth and as per standard Green Day song writing, nothing but the truth.

When someone is described as bouncing of the walls, it's often used an expression to convey that that person appears to be exhibiting nervous excitement or agitation. It's often borne from a sense of restlessness and an itching just to get out side and get on with it - hence bouncing off the walls.

Green Day's song captures this feeling.

Lyrics

We destroyed suburbia
When we were outlaws
Concrete dream - hey
I'm gonna make a scene: radio
Covered in gasoline, sleeping in reverse
And everybody's bouncing off the walls

Bombs away - hey
It's just another day
An idle threat
The secret of the day
I wouldn't sweat it
And everybody's bouncing off the walls

I'm bouncing off the walls!
Alright!

Concrete kiss - hey
Come on and do the twist: radio
My little exorcist, we're all getting pissed
And everybody's bouncing off the walls

'Cause it's all that I want
And I want to be free
I got Satan right here next to me
'Cause we're all bloody freaks
And we'll give you the creeps
Chasing fireflies and zeroes

'Cause it's all that I want
And I want to be free
I got Satan right here next to me
'Cause we're all bloody freaks
And we'll give you the creeps
Chasing fireflies and zeroes

Green Day 'Outlaws' song lyrics

Outlaws is a new song from Green Day's Revolution Radio album

Lyrics:

We're outlaws of forever

Scars, broken hearts
Breaking in cars
Running in the light of the moon
Lost souls
Bottle rockets
All that we wanted
It's for our life beyond stars

Outlaws, when we were forever young
When we were outlaws
We're outlaws of redemption, baby
Hooligans
We destroyed suburbia
When we were outlaws
We're outlaws of forever, baby

I've got no supervision
Nothing will change my spirit
Race around
I'll plead my innocence
I'll plead my innocence
But that's my best defense
When you are young

Outlaws, when we were forever young
When we were outlaws
We're outlaws of redemption, baby
Hooligans
We destroyed suburbia
When we were outlaws
We're outlaws of forever

I found a knife by the railroad track
You took a train and you can't go back
Forever now, forever now you'll roam

Green Day 'Somewhere Now' lyrics

Green Day 'Somewhere Now' song lyrics from Revolution Radio.

Somewhere Now is the opening song from Green Day's Revolution Radio album, which is sometimes referred to as Rev Rad. Order it on Amazon today!

Lyrics:

I put the riot in patriot
And we all die in threes

I got a scene in the middle of the road
I'm gonna take my time
I shop online so I can bolt
At the speed of life
I'm like a drum way up in the sky
I'm the shooting star
There's a soldier that's freaking out
P.S. This is war

All grown up and medicated
On my own cellular waves
I put the riot in patriot
And we all die in threes

All we want is money and guns
A new catastrophe
Here goes nothing
There's nothing to lose
It's a small price we pay
When we all die in threes

Somewhere now
Somewhere now
Somewhere now

Somewhere now
Somewhere now
Somewhere now

Hallelujah, I found my soul
Under the sofa pillows
Congratulations, I found myself
Somewhere now
Somewhere now
Somewhere now

Say Goodbye song lyrics by Green Day

Say Goodbye song lyrics by Green Day

Say Goodbye song lyrics by Green Day

A track taken from Green Day's Revolution Radio album

Lyrics

Say goodbye to the ones that we love
Say goodbye to the ones we love
Say goodbye to the ones that we love
Goodbye to the ones that we love

Say goodbye to the ones that we love
Say goodbye to the ones we love
Say goodbye to the ones that we love
Say goodbye to the ones that we love

Violence on the rise
Like a bullet in the sky
Oh Lord have mercy on my soul
Kindred Spirits sing
For the sick and suffering
The city of damage control
This is how we

(Roll... Roll...)

Say hello to the cops on patrol
Say hello to the cops on patrol
Say hello to the cops on patrol
Say hello to the ones in control

Teach our children well
From the bottom of the well
Oh Lord have mercy on my soul
Hear the children sing
For the sick and suffering
The city of damage control
This is how we

(Roll... Roll... Roll...)

Violence on the rise
Like a bullet in the sky
Oh Lord have mercy on my soul
Kindred Spirits sing
For the sick and suffering
The city of damage control
This is how we

Say your prayer for the ones that we love
Say your prayer for the ones who we love
Say your prayer for the ones that we love
Say goodbye to the ones that we love

(This is how we)

Say your prayer for the ones that we love
Say your prayer for the ones who we love
Say your prayer for the ones that we love
Say goodbye to the ones that we love

(This is how we)

Ordinary World lyrics by Green Day

Ordinary World lyrics by Green Day

A track from the movie Geezer, reworked somewhat for the Revolution Radio album. It's the album closing track.

Billie Joe has said the song's meaning reflects on "the chaos that's on the album, whether it's pop culture or whatever new apps we're using, everything gets so complicated. At some point you want something simple. That's sort of what "Ordinary World" is about."

Ordinary World lyrics written by Billie Joe Armstrong.

Where can I find the city of shining light
In an ordinary world?
How can I leave a buried treasure behind
In an ordinary world?

The days into years roll by
It's where that I live until I die
Ordinary world

What would you wish if you saw a shooting star
In an ordinary world?
I've walked to the end of the earth and afar
In an ordinary world

Baby, I don't have much
But what we have is more than enough
Ordinary world

Where can I find the city of shining light?
In an ordinary world
How can I leave a buried treasure behind?
In an ordinary world

Baby, I don't have much
But what we have is more than enough
Ordinary world

'Too dumb to die' lyrics by Green Day

'Too dumb to die' lyrics by Green Day

From the Green Day album, Revolution Radio.

What is "Too Dumb to Die" about?

Billie Joe has described the song as thus:

'That one is more personal. It's about growing up totally working class and not knowing what the future was going to be, and being sort of a dope-smoking kid.

And then it's also a reference to my father, who was in the teamsters and watching him go out to work in the picket line. I remember my father being on strike a lot. The song is kind of like feeling like, "Is anything really changing?"'

Song lyrics to Revolution Radio by Green Day

These are the lyrics to Green Day's song, Revolution Radio. The track comes from the album of the same name.

The song is often known simply as 'Rev Rad' - a concept promoted by Billie-Joe himself.

Lyrics:

Stay with your hands up in the sky, like you want to testify
For the life that's been deleted, sing like a rebel's lullaby
Under the stars and stripes, for the lost souls that were cheated
We will be seen but not be heard

We are, revolution radio
Operation no control
In the headline, my love's bullet proof
Give me cherry bombs and gasoline
Carry guitars and treachery
In the headline, we call lies the truth

Give me rage like there's tear gas in the crowd
Do you want 'em allowed, but the air is barely breathing
Lies, all the slums to the obsolete
The dawn of the new airwaves for the anti-social media

We are, revolution radio
Operation no control
In the headline, my love's bullet proof
Give me cherry bombs and gasoline
Carry guitars and treachery
In the headline, we call lies the truth

We will be seen but not be heard
We are the songs of the destroyed

We are, revolution radio
Operation no control
In the headline, my love's bullet proof
Give me cherry bombs and gasoline
Carry guitars and treachery
In the headline, we call lies the truth

Bang Bang song lyrics by Green Day

lyrics to Green Day's bang bang song

Bang Bang song lyrics by Green Day

Unless you're a bit of a basket case or an American Idiot, you will not have missed the fact the the greatest punk (!) band to have survived the 1990's, Green Day have announced a new song called Bang Bang from the Revolution Radio album.

The song is a social commentary s about the culture of mass shooting that happens in America mixed with narcissistic social media.

Green Day's singer Billie Joe Armstrong said of Bang Bang's meaning "There's this sort of rage happening, but it's also now being filmed and we all have ourselves under surveillance."

He further said the song is from the view point of a killer who is contemplating or about to commit a mass killing:  "I don't know why someone would ever do something that horrific because I know I never would. It's just sort of meant to also reflect the culture a little bit without sounding pretentious."

Lyrics to Bang Bang by Green Day
Spoken word introduction
/This is definitely not the first video to surface of an execution. ...of men, they claimed responsibility for the executions. Described as severely mentally disturbed. Videos show another hostage executed by the terrorist group. Deserve to be annihilated./
Billie-Joe sings:

I get my kicks and I wanna start a rager
I wanna dance like I'm on the video
I got a fever for the violent behavior
I'm sweatin' bullets like a modern Rome
Bang, bang, give me fame
Shoot me up to entertain
I am a semi-automatic lonely boy
You're dead, I'm well fed
Give me death or give me head
Daddy's little psycho and mommy's little soldier

I testify like a lullaby of memories
Broadcasting live and it's on my radio
I got my photobomb, I got my Vietnam
I love a lie just like anybody else

Bang, bang, give me fame
Shoot me up to entertain
I am a semi-automatic lonely boy
You're dead, I'm well fed

Give me death or give me head
Broadcasting from my room and playin' with my toys
I wanna be a celebrity martyr
The leading man in my own private drama
Hoorah, bang, bang, hoorah, bang, bang, the hero of the hour
Daddy's little psycho and mommy's little soldier

I wanna be like the soldiers on the screen
It's my private movie (Holy War)
Oh baby, baby, this is Viva Vendetta
Oh this is love or it's World War Zero

I wanna be a celebrity martyr
The leading man in my own private drama
Hoorah, bang, bang, hoorah, bang, bang, the hero of the hour
Daddy's little psycho and mommy's little soldier
I wanna be a celebrity martyr
The leading man in my own private drama
Hoorah, bang, bang, hoorah, bang, bang, the hero of the hour
Daddy's little psycho and mommy's little soldier
